Christine Jellis, MD, PhD, is a Staff Cardiologist who specializes in multimodality cardiac imaging in the Robert and Suzanne Tomsich Department of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Sydell and Arnold Miller Family Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute at Cleveland Clinic. She sees patients at Cleveland Clinic’s main campus. Dr. Jellis is Director of Physician Alignment at Cleveland Clinic and Associate Professor of Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.

Education and Training: A native of Australia, Dr. Jellis earned her medical degree from Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. She undertook her internship, residency and general cardiology fellowship at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne, Victoria, followed by a doctorate in cardiac imaging at The University of Queensland, Brisbane, Queensland. From 2013 to 2015, Dr. Jellis was a fellow in advanced cardiac imaging at Cleveland Clinic and joined the Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute staff in July 2015.
Publications and Research: Dr. Jellis has published more than 60 scientific papers in cardiology and cardiac imaging peer-reviewed journals and is a regular presenter at national and international medical conferences. Her primary research interests are in: valvular heart disease, cardiac sarcoidosis, pericardial disease, diseases of the thoracic aorta, radiation associated heart disease, diastolic dysfunction and right heart dysfunction.

I scheduled 6 months in advance. I had a family 99th (birthday out of town) come up 2 1/2 months before my appt and there were NO openings to re-schedule and no cancellations. It is the new norm everywhere - I know. I fear you will promote Dr Jellis and her availability for patients will be worse. This has happened to me w other Cleveland Clinic Drs.

Dr. Jellis was very nice, professional, incredibly smart, experienced and a great listener. I was impressed with her command of the issues having just read my information as provided from a different doctor's office. She gave a lot of great insight and shared her intuition and holistic thoughts about my situation. She offered a great plan and perspective and also tried to relate to my personal circumstances. She ordered some tests that were vital to getting the right information we needed to get a clear picture of my case. I felt very confident in her assessment and her guidance. Everyone who took care of me that day was courteous, friendly and professional. I especially appreciated Dr. Jellis taking the time to work me in later that day so that I would know the results of my echocardiogram before going home. She kindly went over parts of the film with me and explained things in a way I could understand but in no way was condescending. I have already told a number of my friends how excellent my visit was with her and her staff.

Locally, my providers never searched for the "why" that I had an aorta aneurysm. Dr Jellies found that I was born with a bicuspid aorta valve which lead to the aneurysm. It was such a relief to me to know that I did nothing to cause this as I've always lead a healthy lifestyle!
