Jason Genin, DO is a staff physician in Medical Orthopaedic & Sports in the Orthopaedic Surgery Department. He is active in many research projects within these areas and also held several positions including Director, Osteopathic Sports Medicine Fellowship, Team Physician, Cleveland Guardians Baseball Club and Consulting Physician, Cleveland Cavaliers.
Prior to Dr. Genin’s appointment at Cleveland Clinic, he did his fellowship with Cleveland Clinic South Pointe Hospital Sports Medicine, Residency at West Virginia University and obtained board certification at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine.
His specialty interests include non-operative management of orthopaedic conditions, acute and chronic sports injuries, tendon or ligament conditions, musculoskeletal guided ultrasound procedures. He also practices regenerative medicine.

The entire experience was great. The doctor knew exactly what the issue was and got my treatment plan in place right away. He is very personable and I enjoyed talking with him. Dr. Genin expressed genuine concern about my health/pain, was very polite and gentle with examining me, then offered two options of intervention. He throughly explained each option, educating me on the outcomes. He was even respectful of the out of pocket costs and offered assistance with my attaining required medication. I completely trust that Dr. Genin has my best interest in making recommendationed treatment plans!

Wasn't the most pleasant person. Seemed frustrated with the diagnosis and treatment recommendations of the previous doctor. Requested further tests but didn't really provide me with a good feeling of how we were going to treat the Injury going forward (physical therapy).

Dr. Genin is the only doctor I trust implicitly! Because of the many orthopedic medical conditions I spent a great deal of time to find the best doctors and surround myself with a care team best suited for me. Dr. Genin is cautious, wanting my neck evaluated before his treatment. I have a spine doctor, at another facility, so this was a waste of time. Perplexed, as to why, Dr. Genin stated PRP does not accelerate healing of injured tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints. Wanted the PRP therapy, in conjunction with labrum surgery, aid healing. CC orthopedics does not relay the importance of natural therapy that accelerates healing, such as Vitamin C supplementation. A friend had knee replacement in NC, surgeon told her to take natural Vitamin C before and after surgery, helps rebuild tendons. Friend said, had the other knee replacement in Ohio, did not state anything that would aid recovery, except FT, or options the facility would make money from. It's all about money.

Dr. Gennin was excellent. He was matter of fact, and kind. He brought in a copy of my X-ray and went over it thoroughly and explained exactly what I was experiencing symptom-wise, to the timeline. It felt good to finally understand my pain for the last year. He explained next steps, consult to surgeon, and then gave me some names, and said his team would set me up. Truly an Excellent experience!
