His general internal medicine practice consists of primary care, hospital-based medicine and executive health. One the great things about the diversity in his practice is that he can spend extra time talking to patients about things that may not be related directly to health but are certainly connected—like job stresses, family, food, exercise, and lifestyle choices. It’s proactive, patient-focused, and educational.
In addition to his general medicine practice, he serves as the medical director for HealthNetwork Foundation and on the regional board for Make-A-Wish Foundation. He was the previous regional secretary-treasurer for the Society for General Internal Medicine.
Dr. Cartabuke resides in Kirtland Hills, Ohio, with his wife, son and daughter. His wife is the owner and operator of Synergy Equestrian, a 31-acre equestrian facility in Chardon, Ohio that houses over 20 horses.

This was my first time seeing Dr. Cartabuke and I was most impressed with his knowledge and preparation. I've been coming to Cleveland Clinic for approx. 16 years and Dr. Cartabuke went over all my records from previous visits prior to my appointment. Dr. Cartabuke is a superlative physician/care giver. He always has studied my history, considered all situations and conferred with other physicians who have provided my care. He listens, asks questions and respects my feelings and beliefs. After my appointment, he follows up with me within a week to ensure all required referrals are lined up. I feel particularly fortunate that Dr. Cartabuke is my PCP. I trust him sincerely.

Dr. Cartabuke is excellent He is a good listener, kind, compassionate and excellent at communicating my health issues, and how to best attack them going forward. We talked about the fact that he originally would become a history, teacher, and pivoted into the medical field He feels like he's teaching others how to take care of their health, and I would say he is fulfilling, his teaching dream to an extent the way with which he delivered concerning test results was very direct, and yet he gave pathways for which I could definitely improve my health if I was committed. I feel inspired by him, and I am working toward better health in part, because of the hope he provided that I could make a difference.
