Industry Relationships

Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 8/9/2018, Dr. Ibrahim has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. Dr. Ibrahim took time with me to get the whole picture (her listening skills are impressive), and to explain treatment options. I was grateful she went over the next step in the treatment plan before the end of the appointment. She was also mindful of the distance I had to travel to see her and offered virtual visits when they were appropriate.

Dr Ibrahim is so professional with great patient skills. She is very knowledgeable in her field and explains all my options. I would not want to see any other doctor regarding my situation as she takes the time to listen and provide good feedback. She is simply the best.

Appointment started with seeing the fellow , who first asked me if it was okay if she did computer entries as I answered her questions. Hooray!! I realize so much needs to be entered in the computer nowadays, and doctors can't quite look you in the eye as they are speaking because of this, but I so appreciated that Dr. Kaur took the time to recognize me as a person first! Dr. Kaur, the fellow, took a lot of time to understand my concerns and often reflected back the things I told her that really made me feel listened to. And I could not be any happier with the care I receive from Dr. Ibrahim! She takes time, really listens (she must be teaching her fellows how to treat patients!). i never feel rushed with Dr.Ibrahim; I feel that she makes an effort to listen and understand, and always clearly presents options, risks and benefits. I only wish all physicians treated patients like Dr. Ibrahim does!

Dr. Ibrahim is great in every way and I would not hesitate to see her recommend her to friends and family. She's smart, up to date on the latest medicine, and caring. She listened to what I had to say and together we came up with the perfect treatment plan moving forward. I had some hesitation about going downtown to the main campus. But I-90 wasn't bad that morning with the valet parking at the Clinic it was easy peasy.
