Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.
As of 4/2/2018, Dr. Farid has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. Dr. Farid and his physician assistant (forgot her name but she is from Jordan) were very knowledgeable and helpful. Dr. Farid has helped many people in my family and I was very happy to have him care for me too. He is an exceptional doctor and we are very lucky to have him at Cleveland Clinic.

Dr. Farid gave me excellent care. The staff was very courteous. I did not have a long wait time before the doctor saw me.

In general the Cleveland experience was good. Two things surprised me . As a first time client taking a physical, the doctor did not ask any background questions on family history. Next, I truly did not feel as a valued client with Dr Medrad. He spent less than two minutes in the room with two interns and left without any instructions. I was puzzled as to what just happened and what should happen next . I did not know what to do next. I sat there for a while wondering if I shoiuld leave or wait. Finally I decided to leave the room. On my way out I saw the nurse, she asked if I was finished and my response was I really do not know. She found the doctor in the other room and whatever he said, she smoothed it over and said I could leave. It was an unpleasant experience .

It takes too long to get an appointment with my primary doctor. As a long standing patient I sometimes have to wait for several months before I can get an appointment.

Vashawn is exceptional - she is always polite and professional towards us and makes us feel comfortable and at ease. She has a friendly and outgoing disposition and always greets us with her beautiful smile and is kind and patient towards my Papa, as at times due to some hearing loss she is forced to repeat her questions to him. She always provides us with first rate and top notch service. We are so blessed to be under the care of Dr. Farid and his amazing staff!

there is always a short wait between the nurse and the doctor himself.

If I could get the doctor or his nurse to discuss my test results and what direction he wants me to go for the terrible swelling and pain in my ankle and foot, which still has not been resolved, nor does it appear the doctor feels it is important enough to call me back. Left two messages on Friday; my test was on Wednesday and now Monday and still have not heard. Very disappointed.
