Biography

About Donald Malone, Jr., MD

Donald A. Malone, Jr., M.D., is currently President of the Cleveland Clinic Ohio Hospitals and Family Health Centers. In this role, he sits on the Executive Team and oversees the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus as well as all Oho Regional Hospitals, Family Health Centers and other ambulatory sites. Dr. Malone is a Professor of Psychiatry at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.

Dr. Malone previously served as President of Cleveland Clinic Lutheran Hospital as well as Chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Psychology at Cleveland Clinic where he also directed the Center for Behavioral Health. He is Chair of the Cleveland Clinic Strategic Space Planning Committee and a member of the Cleveland Clinic Planning Committee.

Dr. Malone graduated with his M.D. degree from The Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine in 1985.  There he was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha. Following his medical school training, he did one year of internship in internal medicine followed by a psychiatric residency at The Massachusetts General Hospital. Since 1989, he has been at The Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Malone has been very active in research, education, and various local and national committees. He has held positions in The Ohio Psychiatric Association, The American Psychiatric Association, The International Society for Neurostimulation, and The American College of Psychiatrists. His research has been primarily in the areas of anxiety disorders, anabolic steroid use and abuse, neuromodulation, and Deep Brain Stimulation. He has authored numerous publications in these areas and presented both nationally and internationally.

I know that Dr Malone is not accepting new patients.

Very challenging. Took several calls and a litany of proofs that I have insurance. Schedulers kept insisting I was a new patient, though I have annual visits with Dr Malone for nearly 30 years
