Industry Relationships

Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 9/13/2017, Dr. Mohan has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. Click here to view a listing of instances where Cleveland Clinic has identified a Public Health Service (PHS)-Reportable Financial Conflict of Interest and has put measures in place to ensure that, to the extent possible, the design, conduct and reporting of the research is free from bias.

I never experienced a provider that was so educating and knowledgeable in there field of medicine I had the best experience and I learned a lot about my condition

Reviewed on Jun 8, 2018

The doctor was excellent. Took a lot of time talking to me about my condition and explained things in a way I could understand. Just wonderful !

Reviewed on May 2, 2018

Dr. Mohan thoroughly explained the results of my tests, provided me with the options available, and included me in the decision making. I didn't feel like I was being pressured into doing anything I didn't feel comfortable doing.

Reviewed on May 2, 2018

My overall experience with Dr. Mohan was excellent. He takes the time to explain in depth everything. However, getting an appointment isn't always easy. I was somewhat disappointed with the fact that I had to see his ARNP the first time Especially since I am an existing patient of his.

loved Dr Mohan and the Cleveland clinic experience

Reviewed on Apr 9, 2018

Being a patient of Cleveland and specifically of Dr. Mohan which is why I started to come to Cleveland and am very happy to be there.

Reviewed on Jan 18, 2018

This is one of the reasons I see Dr. Mohan, he includes me in decisions about my treatment, he listens to me and I feel I can discuss my health issues freely with him.

Reviewed on Jan 18, 2018

*Dr. Mohan is very thorough and aware of my medical situation. I feel very confident of the care I receive from him.

Reviewed on Jan 15, 2018

This is the first visit with this physician in the group; I found him to be excellent in terms of knowledge and putting the patient first.

Reviewed on Jan 12, 2018

This doctor sent me a letter about my test within a day of completing the test, incredible followup

Reviewed on Oct 17, 2017

I know how to take care of myself. There was no meaningful communication during this session. Increasingly my visits to the Clinic with all physicians involve no meaningful health interactions and are largely focused on providing me the necessary paperwork to get the medications or supplies I need that Medicare pays for. This is largely a systemic issue rather than an inadequacy of the doctors. I find these days that doctors rarely help me with issues to enhancing my health. They are primarily focused on addressing any immediate problems.

Reviewed on Sep 15, 2017

Said his office would contact me regarding blood work results but if not to give office a call. Doctor gave me a card with the office number to follow-up.
