Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 5/30/2018, Dr. Gota has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. Dr. Gota is extremely professional, took her time and LISTENED. Dr. Gota genuinely was concerned about my health/treatment since I e been to several doctors prior who just did not care. I will definitely be back to see Dr. Gota.

Dr. Gota has always been great to work with and takes time to make sure your concerns/questions have been answered.

Contacting Dr. Gota via MyChart is the best way to communicate with her. She's very quick to reply to that medium.

Dr. Gota has helped me through a very difficult diagnosis with a lot of grace, care and concern.

Reviewed on Apr 8, 2019

Dr Gota is knowledgeable but needs to take more time to research patient's history and to speak with patient as these cases are very complicated.

Reviewed on Apr 5, 2019

Dr. Goto was very knowledgeable, thorough, and put me at ease. She returned my calls herself and was very kind. I trust her to help make health decisions.

Reviewed on Apr 1, 2019

Dr. Gota was extremely courteous, professional & informative. I felt quite at ease with her; feel very lucky to have had her as my doctor.

I was very disappointed with the physician's lack of kindness. I feel like she did not listen to me, interrupted me when I was trying to describe medical history, and was cold. She spoke so quickly I had a hard time understanding her. I also feel like she just wanted to ask me questions to "fill in her blanks" on her computer and not really interact with me. I put time, money, and effort into coming to Cleveland Clinic and was terribly disappointed.

Dr. Gota was awesome! It was refreshing to be able to converse with someone who knows my symptoms and how to address them!

I was impressed by Dr. Gota's thorough hands on exam.

In the 2 visits that I've had with Dr. Gota, she has been nothing but professional and caring. I had been dealing with a Dr. in Morgantown and felt that I wasn't getting the attention that I needed for the disease that I have. I sought out Dr. Gota and she explained more to me in the 2 visits then I had with the previous dr in six months.

Reviewed on Feb 13, 2019

Dr. Gota seemed to take her time & listened very well.

Reviewed on Feb 5, 2019

dr gota seems to have a lot of knowledge about the problem I was having but also seemed to dismiss what other drs had previously told me my diagnosis could be. I was given information but not as a discussion- more of a feeling of being "talked at." this was difficult to accept because I had just paid out of pocket for the visit being told it was so expensive because I was seeing the highest quality drs in the area and beyond. a discouraging experience for certain.

Dr Carmen Gota is one of the best doctors I have ever had and she truly cares about her patients and their lives

Reviewed on Jan 29, 2019

I struggled for a year with other providers, for treatment and a diagnosis. In one visit with Dr. Gota, she was provided me with more answers and treatment than I had received previously in the last year with other providers. CC is 3.5 hours away from my home and I will continue to make that visit rather than trusting in my previous providers. I walked away feeling confident after my visit!

Reviewed on Jan 4, 2019

Dr. Gota is very deft at her craft. Will do a thorough evaluation of a person's medical history, take time to talk to the patient honing in on what specifically you are being seen for yet ordering enough testing to ensure nothing has been remiss. She will respond to all questions promptly on "My Chart" giving diagnosis or elimination of questionable/presumed maladies from test results. If treatment is needed she will direct.
