Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 4/1/2021, Dr. Gota has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. I love Dr. Gota. She is intelligent, competent and caring. I have been treated over the last 50 years by several rheumatologists (I was diagnosed at age 22 years) and Dr. Gota is the best doctor I have ever had. She was able to stop my chronic vomiting when no other doctor could--my PCP, rheumatologist and neurologist. Dr. Gota is approachable and listens well. Her concern for her patients is exemplary! I do recommend her to friends and neighbors and family!!!

Dr Gota always shows concern in dealing with my condition. She never seems rushed to move on to her next case and always asks if I understand any changes made in my care or if I understand the lab test results. I also notice she takes notes while I am describing episodes that happen since the last appointment. I have the feeling she is happy to include me in helping to seek a solution to my healthcare.

Dr Gots is very caring!

Reviewed on Jul 31, 2020

Dr. Gota was very thorough, and took her time listening, asking questions and examining me. I never felt that she was in a hurry to get to her next patient, and that I, and what I was experiencing were very important to her. I left feeling much better about what was going on. As I was leaving she offered additional safety advice for my job regarding Covid 19. I am a flight attendant. I have been on a leave for 5 months and scheduled to go back at the end of this month. She wanted to make sure I had proper protection once I started working again. It was a small thing, but made me feel like she was concerned about me as a whole, not just from a diagnosis point of view.

Reviewed on Jul 30, 2020

Didn't not feel the Doctor really cared about hearing my concerns. she barely reviewed my lab work, did a quick exam, gave me an opportunity to ask questions. I am in the surgical field and would describe the MD has very passive and impersonal.

I have received kinder greetings from Walmart employees. No introduction from Dr Gota, what to expect, no real caring. started the conversation with "tell me what's wrong.". No prompts or questions to help me understand what might be the right answer to her question.... just said "what else.". Checked her watch periodically throughout the call so my perception was she was running through my appointment quickly.

Reviewed on Jun 30, 2020

Dr. Gota is very thorough.

Reviewed on Jun 29, 2020

The physical exam was very brief and not thorough. I only see Dr. Gota once a year and she usually moves all my joints, listens to my lungs and heart, palates my abdomen, feels my neck and jawline ( salivary glands). This time, she only examined my joints. We were both wearing masks. I was surprised she didn't do a more thorough exam.

Reviewed on Jun 9, 2020

Dr. Gota is the best physician I know. She has been watching out for me for eleven years or so. She is forthright about my RA, and she goes above and beyond her duties as my physician. We were in Antarctica from mid-Feb to mid March and were quarantined for an extra ten days, causing me to run out of medications that I take. She and her NP were extremely attentive to my concerns, and they, on nearly a daily basis, messaged me while we were there to discuss the potential impact of my being without the meds, their concerns about how to protect myself (and to protect others from me) on the long trip back to Cleveland through airports in the Falklands, Chile, NYC, and Cleveland. She was entirely reassuring, responsive to my concerns, and she continued that when I returned to Cleveland and couldn't get prescriptions filled. I hope I wasn't a total pest. But both of them never expressed anything but kindness and concern. Dr. Gota is an extraordinary physician. She always treats me like a partner in the management of my RA. I appreciate her no-nonsense, realistic, but kind care.
