Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.
As of 10/4/2019, Dr. Alemar has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. Perhaps it is not the doctors fault. He was recommended by our allergist in Sarasota as they were not able to determine the cause or solution of my conditions. They suggested this doctor as he was doing work with allergies that affect the larynx. It was a long drive for a short visit. He did not induce a reaction even though we suggested it. He merely looked at the larynx and advised it looks fine and suggested we drive back to Miami for speech therapy. Did not feel there was much effort at understanding the condition. Disappointing.

DR. ALEMAR WAS A VERY CONCERNED AND CARING MAN. HE MADE ME FEEL SO MUCH BETTER. BEFORE I SAW HIM I WAS AFRAID BECAUSE I HAD SEEN A DOCTOR IN MY TOWN AND WAS NOT PLEASED BECAUSE HE NEVER EXPLAINED THINGS. DR. ALEMAR IS VERY INTELLIGENT AND CARING AND HE EXPLAINED MY ISSUE FOR COMING TO CLEVELAND CLINIC. I REALLY WISH ALL DOCTORS WERE CARING AND CONCERNED AND SMART AS DR. ALEMAR. HE HAS TAKEN GOOD CARE OF ME AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO.

Doctor extremely rude. my son has been in pain for two years. he is very frustrated and depressed. the doctor didn't listen to any he had to say. Didn't ask questions, didn't perform a physical exam, didn't look at CT scan we brought with us (only radiology report). Showed no compassion at all. We drive 6 hours one way in rain to see this doctor. We both missed a day of work. it was a complete waste of time and money. He had two medical students with him and I guess he was showing them how NOT to be a good physician. We have seen multiple doctors in our quest to get my son some relief. This doctor by far has been the worst!

Dr. Alemar is an incredible and knowledgeable doctor. His skill as a surgeon is also top-notch. When I am seen by him I know I am receiving care from one of the best ENTs around. I have had many experiences with many ENTs in the past, I have never seen a better one.
