Industry Relationships

Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 10/31/2017, Dr. Alemar has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. I have recommended Dr Alarmar to a nurse in my primary care service for treatment for another patient that goes to my pcp

Doctor extremely rude. my son has been in pain for two years. he is very frustrated and depressed. the doctor didn't listen to any he had to say. Didn't ask questions, didn't perform a physical exam, didn't look at CT scan we brought with us (only radiology report). Showed no compassion at all. We drive 6 hours one way in rain to see this doctor. We both missed a day of work. it was a complete waste of time and money. He had two medical students with him and I guess he was showing them how NOT to be a good physician. We have seen multiple doctors in our quest to get my son some relief. This doctor by far has been the worst!

Dr. Alemar is an incredible and knowledgeable doctor. His skill as a surgeon is also top-notch. When I am seen by him I know I am receiving care from one of the best ENTs around. I have had many experiences with many ENTs in the past, I have never seen a better one.

coldest doctor I have ever been seen by. no introduction when entering the room. no even a simple "hello"

Reviewed on Feb 25, 2019

My visit was very pleasant, The Doctor was very informative and attentive to my needs

Reviewed on Nov 7, 2018

there was just a problem where I could not see the original dr my appt was with.but they referred me to dr Alamar, which turned out for the best.the reason some of my replies are good and not very good is because of some difficulties encountered with the cancelled appt for the original provider not dr Alamar and any of the staff I encountered in the coral springs location

Reviewed on Nov 7, 2018

once again my "good" response has to do with a clerical error made by the dr s office who cancelled the original appt.not anything to do with dr Alamar

Reviewed on Nov 5, 2018

Dr. Alemar successfully treated me for a deviated septum many years ago and corrected my current problem with this recent examination. I have great confidence in his ability.

Reviewed on Nov 5, 2018

Best visit. Dr was clear enough to explain problem and course to follow.
