Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

I messaged Dr. Ahmed regarding appointment time and he was very flexible with time ( agreed to see me when I was able to get there) as he realizes that I travel over 8 hours round trip to see him.

Dr. Ahmed is very personable. He is good at listening to the patient and reflects how I expect a doctor to be. He is definitely a credit to the Cleveland Clinic and sets a high example of doctor/patient relationship.

Reviewed on Jun 18, 2018

Dr. Ahmed is wonderful to me! He knows my health so well and always helps me.

Reviewed on May 23, 2018

When I have made appointments with this provider, first available is always 2 months or more in the future. He then seems rushed, which shouldn't be the case after I have waited so long to see him.

Reviewed on May 16, 2018

I have been seeing *Dr. Ahmed for 7 or 8 yrs. He is an excellent doctor. I especially like the location of the Mellen Center - much easier than when Neurology was in the main building.

Reviewed on Mar 27, 2018

Dr. Ahmed seems distracted, rushed, short. Perhaps he had an emergency (there was one appointment ahead of us that seemed to delay my appointment). I understand those things happen. The Dr. that assisted was excellent.

Reviewed on Feb 15, 2018

Office visit was too "rushed" - doctor said he had another patient to see, stood up, and ended the session! From visits early on beginning in 2010, my visits became more and more "brief" and I felt as though there was not sufficient time to discuss all that needed to be discussed.

Reviewed on Jan 16, 2018

Dr. Ahmed is a compassionate and exceptional doctor.
