Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.
As of 8/23/2019, Dr. Ahmed has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. Dr. Ahmed is an excellent physician in EVERY respect. I have been struggling with neurological issues for many, many years. I have received from previous physicians ( not affiliated with Cleveland Clinic) sometimes confusing diagnoses and sometimes abrupt and dismissive treatment! I wish I had come to Cleveland Clinic and been seen by Dr. Ahmed years ago! I see many physicians for a variety of ailments other than neurological issues so I feel I know an excellent doctor when I am treated by one. Dr. Ahmed is a the very top of excellent physicians. He asks then listens closely to the patient. He is kind . He is vey knowledgeable. He promises to continue to work with the patient and take all steps to fine the clearest diagnosis possible. His approach, thoroughness, and willing ness to help me made me realize that Cleveland Clinic is the best possible place for me to be helped. God bless Dr. Ahmed and Cleveland Clinic!

Dr. Ahmed was very thorough in his clinical evaluation of my atypical Parkinson's symptoms. He even recommended an MRI to rule out other causes of my atypical symptoms. No other neurologist that I have been to has been this thorough in recommending imaging.

Although Dr. Ahmed was very professional I felt he left me hanging with a diagnosis of Parkinsons Disease. In other words he answered my questions about the disease (these were of course limited because I didn't know what I didn't know). I would suggest he have a sheet of resources/websites to visit or support groups in the area. This would have helped me feel more supported after such a devastating diagnosis
