Dr. Scarcella, Megan (the PT that presented the pre-surg overview and provided initial PT after surgery) and Jim Nagy (follow up PT at CC Brunswick) could not have provided better care. The hospital staff was excellent as well. If fact, every person I came in contact with during the entire experience deserves an A+!!!

First Doctor my primary care physician recommended wasn't available for 10 weeks. Dr. Scarcella was available in two weeks. Had I known Dr. Scarcella was doing hand I would have asked for him first. Dr. Scarcella did my knee replacement 10 years ago and I have held him in great esteem ever since. One day after seeing him he sent me to Dr. King who did cortizone injections in my joints. tThings have improved.

After five months from total knee replacement I have only see the Doctor twice. When I called to see about some lack of motion after four months (abnormal) of therapy concerning lack of motion and some hardness around the knee I was told just wait for a month untill you next appointment now I am told wait three months and see what happens, meanwhile I still have lack of motion and am unable to do normal tasks and waiting for my second replacement is delayed. my real concern is lack of response from this care provider.

waited over 45 minutes to be called to see the doctor I

Reviewed on Sep 20, 2019

Although Dr. Scarcella seemed to be very knowledgeable, during the first few minutes of the consultation he told me that I really shouldn't be there. He said that my problem was one of the most over-diagnosed conditions. I then explained that my primary care doctor had treated this condition when it had occurred in my left leg, but he referred me to orthopedics for this occurrence in my right leg due to the size of the swelling. After Dr. Scarcella examined my leg, he did provide me with answers to my questions, as well as treatment options. After leaving the office, however, I felt that his comments about why I had been referred to him seemed unprofessional. My primary care doctor is a thorough conservative physician and would not have referred me without cause. I hope that for his sake, Dr. Scarcella was just having a bad day. I look for caring and concern in my doctors, however, and these qualities were not evident in him that day.
