About Kevin Hodges, MD

Kevin Hodges, MD, is a cardiac surgeon in the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery of the Sydell and Arnold Miller Family Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute. He sees patients and performs surgery at main campus.

Specialty Interests: Mitral valve repair, atrial fibrillation surgery, aortic surgery, aortic valve repair and replacement, minimally invasive cardiac surgery, robotic cardiac surgery, reoperative cardiac surgery

Experience: As a thoracic surgery resident at Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Hodges participated in more than 1,000 major cardiothoracic surgeries over six years.

Education: Dr. Hodges is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Ind., receiving a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences and philosophy, magna cum laude. He earned his doctorate of medicine with honors from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, Chicago. He received his surgical training through a six-year integrated thoracic surgery residency at Cleveland Clinic where he was selected as chief resident in his final year.

Dr. Hodges joined the Cleveland Clinic medical staff in 2021 at the conclusion of his residency. 

Research, Publications and Speaking: Dr. Hodges has coauthored scientific papers on complex cardiac surgeries, including reoperations, published in leading peer-reviewed medical and surgical journals. He has been a co-presenter on advanced cardiac surgery cases and techniques at national and international medical meetings.
