Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 11/30/2021, Dr. Massoud has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Dr massoud was wonderful. He took his time. He was very straightforward while still very compassionate about my current health situation. He answered my list of questions before I could even ask them. Thorough. Timely. Encouraging but not unrealistic. A wonderful doctor and I look forward to following up with him. I feel safe in his care.

You are cleveland clinic. You know you are awesome. That's why I flew up there from South Carolina and will do so every two months just for bloodwork and a doctor. Dr Vinkatesh Krisnamurthi saved my father's life five years ago and has gone above and beyond in directing my family to other experts at the clinic for other issues. Facing a transplant is nothing I ever wanted or expected but I'm glad I can come to Cleveland and know I will receive the best care possible.

I am at a loss as to how to describe my visit. I had a lot of hope coming up to Cleveland but the doctor did not seem very interested. I had to ask, actually demand blood work after my visit, and I had to request having an upper G.I. scope to findOut why I was having such pain and high liver enzymes. I was hoping he could give me some scenarios as to why this might be happening and the only thing he came up with was that I was on naproxen. I had stopped naproxen a week prior on my own thinking this might be the culprit but I continue to have pain and I don't know if my liver enzymes are elevated or not so I may have two separate issues. I just wish he would've discussed this more with me instead of just having me return in two weeks to see how I'm doing. I asked a lot of questions and didn't feel like I got solid answers. cleveland is a long way to come to feel this way. I did get the EGD scheduled for Cleveland Clinic at the end of this month.

Dr. Romero was my favorite doctor, so when he left, I was quite concerned. Dr. Massoud is absolutely wonderful, and very much put my mind at ease.

We saw Dr. Omar Massoud for the first time at this visit. My husband & I were both impressed by his calm, informative approach to the reason I was there, he thoroughly explained my health issue & told me what I can do to possibly improve my condition. He then ordered a fibroscan, which was done in his office immediately after my appointment with the doctor. I had the same test done through another doctor 2 years ago, but had to make a separate appointment, a few weeks later at the Main Campus, which was a little inconvenient. We really appreciated Dr. Omar Massoud's care & concern.
