Industry Relationships

Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 9/9/2018, Dr. Hernandez has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. Dr. Dunia Hernandez do not show up to my appointment.

Very professional, knowledgeable, thorough, pleasant and caring doctor. Explains clearly.

Dr. Hernandez is the rudest and most unprofessional doctor I have ever seen. She didn't introduce herself, scolded me the entire time for using medication for insomnia and proceeded to lecture me as to why I should go to another doctor. Lastly, she just walked out of the room saying the nurse would be back with my annual bloodwork order shortly. Also, my paperwork was given to me in Spanish which I don't even read. It was a terrible appointment. This doctor chose the wrong profession.

Reviewed on Feb 5, 2019

When she first walked in, without introducing herself, she said, "I understand you want to change over to us for your Primary Physician but I don't give out any medication for insomnia." She then proceeded to basically scold me the rest of the time for being on medication for insomnia...extremely rude woman.

I went for my annual physical and Dr. Hernandez didn't do any physical check on my ears, nose and throat even though she saw on my history that I had previous surgery at Cleveland for tonsil cancer. All she did was ask me to take a deep breath while she listened to my lungs. That was the extent of her version of an annual physical...disgraceful.

Dr. Hernandez made me feel as though she is genuinely concerned for my health and overall well being. She took great care of me during my visit. I am so happy she is my doctor, I feel safe under her care.

seemed in a hurry. did not say " good bye" or nice to meet you" . imagine how far a simple " I'm going to do whatever I can to get you healthy" or" I'll give you my whole effort" would go in strengthening the bond between dr. and patient. A smile and a handshake on completion of an appointment would be a pleasant reason to reschedule an appointment with the same Dr.

As a first time patient I will definitely recommend this provider. The service was absolutely exceptional!

Dr should have ordered a flu shot and Dr never did a blood test

Reviewed on Sep 13, 2018

My experience visiting this provider was among the worst that I have ever had. I have some serious, ongoing health issues - some that are uncommon and require thinking outside the box. Dr. Hernandez was somewhat rude and expressed frustration with me for coming to her with a complex set of health issues that did not fit into any textbook explanation that she could easily identify. Instead of trying to help me figure out what could be going on, she instead dismissed my concerns and said she "didn't know how she could help me." She also scolded me for not having my records even though I had them faxed by two providers to the fax number provided by the scheduling office weeks prior to my appointment. I was looking for a doctor who could use their medical expertise to try to help me figure out why several parts of my health are deteriorating and she seemed far less than interested in helping. If I did not have other doctors helping me I would have left her appointment drained of all hope. That is how negative of an experience my visit with her was.
