Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 12/20/2018, Dr. Charles has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. Amazing nurse & excellent Dr.

I was extremely happy with the was Dr. Charles approached my concerns, the thorough examination she performed. She put out alternative treatment options clearly and generously answered all my questions. I am thankful for her help and time. I am also grateful to the lady at the reception desk for scheduling an almost immediate appointment upon my unannounced arrival.

Oh my goodness, words can NEVER express how grateful I am to have Dr. Charles as my doctor, for years I have tried to find a doctor that could tell me what was going on with my skin. Dr. Charles is the absolute best, after years and years I now know what has been going on with my skin since I was 10 years old! I thank her for helping me and explaining what is happening and how she will treat this condition.

The provider I requested was the only one with whom I was familiar as I'd seen her years ago. I'm actually glad she was unavailable because I really liked Dr. Charles. I am going to seei her not only for my hair issue but as my dermatologist for all of my skin-related issues.

It feels like you need to hire more dermatologists- wait time to get an appointment was long. Your current doctors are booked solid for weeks, sometimes months in advance.

I didn't choose anyone in particular but was scheduled for the first available. The doctor that I saw helped me understand my concern. Explained in detail and provided literature explaining my skin condition.
