About David Hardy, MD

David Hardy, MD, is a vascular surgeon in the Department of Vascular Surgery in the Sydell & Arnold Miller Family Heart & Vascular Institute. He sees patients at Cleveland Clinic main campus.

Specialty Interests: Aorta surgery, including re-operations and high-risk re-operations; aneurysm repair, including minimally invasive and open aortic aneurysm repair and visceral aneurysm surgery; carotid artery disease; minimally invasive and open surgery for peripheral arterial disease (PAD); dialysis access; thoracic outlet syndrome

Education: Dr. Hardy received his medical degree Medical College of Georgia, Augusta University, Augusta, Ga., and served his residency, post-doctoral fellowship, surgical internship and surgical residency there. He was elected chief resident in the final year of his surgical residency. Dr. Hardy completed his subspecialty training with a fellowship in vascular and endovascular surgery at Cleveland Clinic. He joined the Cleveland Clinic medical staff in 2017.

Experience and Outcomes: Cleveland Clinic's Department of Vascular Surgery performs more than 5,000 procedures annually at three inpatient, seven outpatient and four ambulatory surgery facilities. Physicians in the department are national and international leaders in treating thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysms and blockages in the brain circulation using open and minimally invasive methods.

Publications: Dr. Hardy has coauthored numerous articles in major medical and scientific journals and authored several textbook chapters.

About Dr. Hardy: “I consider it a privilege to serve patients by managing their complicated vascular problems.” My favorite part of my work is building relationships with my patients. For most of them I will be treating their chronic medical problems for the rest of their lives, and I enjoy watching them improve.”

Leisure Activities: In his leisure time, Dr. Hardy enjoys spending time with family, running and golf.

We were very impressed with Dr. Hardy and the entire staff. He gave us more time and explanations than I have received with my previous surgeon here in Michigan. I am completely satisfied with his care and handling of my case.

I saw Dr. Hardy for a follow-up appt after having been treated for a ruptured AAA. He spent time with my son and I explaining the CT Scan results and even showing the before and after scans and explaining them to us.

Dr. Hardy spent time with my son and I answering all of our questions and explaining everything to us. He was very good at explaining very complicated medical procedures in term we could understand.
