Industry Relationships

Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 9/9/2018, Dr. Lovera has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. front desk were really polite ,the nurse that helped me out was extremely kind,Dr lovera made me feel really comfortable and answered every question I asked her ,amazing Dr and staff .thanks a bunch

Reviewed on Apr 24, 2019

The provider was polite, pleasant, professional, and expressed genuine concern. However the rapport component seemed lacking. The provider seemed slightly rushed and in a hurry and I felt that she could have spent more time discussing my various concerns and treatment options. Overall the experience was fair.

Excellent visit. Dr. Lovera was very thorough and took her time. It was a pleasure meeting her. I'm very pleased to have her as my new primary.

I found the whole process of getting the appointment highly satisfactory. Dr. Lovera's staff members were very courteous and helpful, and Dr. Lovera spent time with me as a first-time patient and was interested in my overall health. She ordered lab tests and scheduled me for a much-needed physical two weeks later.... great way to begin a new doctor-patient relationship!! I am so well pleased to have Dr. Lovera as my new Physician since I just moved to Florida.

This was my first visit. The doctor came right away to my room after the nurse assistant left. The doctor was knowledgable and patient. I felt like she cared about my overall health. I didn't feel like just a number to check off a list.

Dr. Lovera was very attentive, turned screen to show me blood test results. Discussed action in certain area, direct on follow-up.

Amazing experience. Dr. Karen Lovera listened to me and I felt she genuinely cared about my well being. She is an asset to the Cleveland Clinic and I am so grateful I was able to establish care. The nurse - who's name I do not remember - was also fantastic. She was attentive and kind. She also listened to my symptoms and was able to relay those symptoms very well to Dr. Lovera. The lady who checked me out was Giselle- I think - she was so funny! She was able to schedule the appointments I needed quickly and addressed any concerns I had. I have never visited a medical facility as amazing as the Cleveland Clinic. I was truly blown away.

Reviewed on Feb 19, 2019

my doctor was excellent. She explained everything so that I could understand and was very nice.

Reviewed on Feb 7, 2019

Dr. Lovera was on time and she was very engaging. she asked questions and made me feel like it was more than just her job to care about me.

Reviewed on Feb 6, 2019

Doctor seems very thorough.

Reviewed on Feb 5, 2019

Dr Lovera showed little authority on the treatment prescribed. She said she would return so I could show her some test results and sent the nurse with the prescription. I told the nurse that I still had some questions and she said the doctor was busy and that I should send her an email. The nurse then told me to take other supplements. The Doctor was very unprofessional and I was surprised that could happen in the Cleveland clinic.

Dr. Lovera was a terribly rude provider, no respect for me as a patient.
