Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 9/18/2018, Dr. Hrelec has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. Dr Hrelec was very personable and professional. Her evaluation, diagnosis, explanation and action plan were communicated in a clear and timely manner.

Reviewed on Apr 23, 2019

Dr. Hrelec is very professional, has a great "beside manner" and listens to what is being asked of her. I have already referred her to a dear friend of mine who has already scheduled an appointment to see her. I wish all of my doctors were as good as she is.

Reviewed on Apr 22, 2019

the doctor was the best I have ever experienced since trying to see a competent ENT doctor in almost 5 months. Dr. Ehrlic was suoper.

Reviewed on Apr 22, 2019

This was the WORST experience with a doctor in my entire life. Words alone are not able to express just how disappointing and frankly unprofessional this doctor was. Given this being an 8am appointment (first of the day) and I was not taken back to the exam room until 8:30am with no apology or explanation for the delay only to be greeted by a very curt and rude doctor that seemed annoyed that I was there. Unbelievable.

Was informed last minute my MAR appoint was cancelled due Dr had an emergency surgery

About an hour wait time in room waiting for doctor. When she came she was very apologetic

Reviewed on Apr 2, 2019

I called for an appointment in February and was told the first available afternoon appointment wasn't until April 2. Dr. Hrelec seemed very surprised when I told her. she said her schedule had t been filled.

Reviewed on Apr 2, 2019

Dr. Hrelec had excellent bedside manner. she was warm and friendly. I felt she took the time to listen to my concerns. she asked a ton of questions so she could get an understanding of my medical background and as to what could be causing my problems. we discussed different treatment options and what would work best.

Reviewed on Mar 28, 2019

Dr Herlec was a pleasure to see and will certainly use her as my doctor should the occasion arise. She was informative and allow our conversation to be a two way street.

Dr Hrelec has been extremely accessible and caring.

Reviewed on Mar 7, 2019

Dr.Hrelec is a very personable and competent physician with a wonderful manner . She apologized for being delayed due to an unexpected procedure prior to my appointment. She diagnosed my problem as sinusitis. While using the endoscope she described what what at issue and explained what what needed to be done to alleviate the infection.

experience with dr was great

Reviewed on Jan 21, 2019

I really like Dr. Hrelec and appreciate her manner and knowledge. I waited a month to see her originally and I'm glad I did. I had been incorrectly diagnosed by a non Cleveland Clinic doctor nearer to home. The added travel time is well worth it to be able to see a doctor who is skilled and patient.

Reviewed on Jan 21, 2019

In other doctor's offices, the assistant does everything to minimize how long a doctor sees a patient. It's like a breath of fresh air to speak directly to a doctor who is not running out of the room.

Reviewed on Jan 21, 2019

the doctor was very informative about my sickness.

this was my first visit to dr. hrelec and I was very satisfiied with her treatment. it took 3 months to get in to see her. I originally had an appt with a colleague and then I was called and told she would be the appropriate person in the practice to see me.

Dr HRELEC is a wonderful professional. Not only did she explain everything in medical terms but also in layman terms. I would not change her for another MD in her field of specialize medical expertise. Thank you Dr Hrelec.

My Dr. was incredible! She was so patient, thorough, took time to explain, and very kind. She suggested that if I had any trouble scheduling a follow up appointment to contact her. My only complaint is having to wait almost one month before my next appointment, so I contacted the office manager and she was able to get me in sooner.

Reviewed on Aug 24, 2018

Dr Hrelec apologized for wait time. she said they were backed up with providing patient care. I understand and was not inconvenienced.

wait time to see the doctor was in excess of 45minutes. I sat in the exam room for 45 min. without anyone telling me what was going on!

Reviewed on Aug 10, 2018

Dr. Hrelec is wonderful. Her presence is very reassuring and very empathetic towards me and mt wife. She is kind and wonderful she is the type of Doctor that I would say to Cleveland Clinic do your best to keep her!!!!

Reviewed on Aug 10, 2018

The doctor was friendly after a few minutes of warming up. However, initially, her approach was very off-putting. I was actually on my way out to leave the clinic because I waited for so long, but the doctor and (I believe a trainee) were standing outside of the door as I was leaving. The doctor didn't apologize for the wait and didn't try to encourage me to stay. She responded as if I was just another patient and responded that it was fine if I wanted to reschedule. I would've appreciated a different response considering I was there with a newborn and made arrangements for my other two children to be watched while I was at the appointment.

Reviewed on Aug 10, 2018

I arrived approximately 10 minutes before more appointment and waited nearly 2 hours before being seen. I had to ask the receptionist about the wait time after I had not been called back 45 mins - 1 hour later. I was called back after waiting nearly an hour and a half and then waited to be seen by the doctor for an additional approximately 30 minutes.

Reviewed on Aug 1, 2018

Dr. Hrelec was the perfect doctor for me. Great interaction and explanations. I never felt rushed and she really helped me relax after having a less comfortable experience with my last care provider.
