About Amy Drab, PA-C

Amy Drab has over 19 years of experience as a physician assistant including family practice, OB/GYN, and urgent/emergent care settings.  She also taught at Kettering College of Medical Arts as an associate professor of Physician Assistant education for 4 years.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Health Professions/Physician Assistant from Kettering College of Medical Arts and her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska.  Amy’s journey in discovering Functional Medicine’s healing potential started early on in her career when she noticed that patients often had a long list of unexplainable or unattributable symptoms.  Armed with the belief that the patient is generally telling the truth and that their symptoms are real, Amy wanted to find the reason why these patients were so ill. Functional Medicine become the portal of entry that allowed for the healing of multiple family members when nothing else worked. After witnessing numerous recoveries through the lens of Functional Medicine, Amy now knew the truth and her practice of medicine was forever changed. Her desire to learn more about Functional Medicine led to rigorous study.  She is a certified Functional Medicine practitioner and has increased her understanding of Functional Medicine over the last 9 years with numerous learning opportunities. Her passion is to see patients understand the issue and to be given the tools to be an active participant in the healing process. This is truly where healing begins.

Amy also enjoys teaching the Functioning for Life classes which enable patients to learn more about how to resolve or improve their health conditions and discover the root of their illness.  Common conditions she treats include autoimmune diseases, chronic digestive issues like IBS and food sensitivities, thyroid disease, women’s health issues such as menopause and polycystic ovarian disease, anxiety, depression, weight management issues, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia.

In addition to her interest in Functional Medicine, Amy enjoys running, yoga, and exploring the great outdoors with her husband and 3 girls.  Amy would be delighted to assist you on your journey back to wellness. Your symptoms are real and you deserve relief and healing.  Many others having successfully improved their health through discovering and addressing the root of their illness and you can too.
