Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.
As of 5/6/2019, Dr. Selvakumar has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. My son has autism in addition to the chronic physical illness he was hospitalized for. The doctors, nurses, and CNAs were all very flexible and understanding in tailoring his care around his autism "quirks."

We really do like Dr. Selvakumar. He explains things well and he gives better more accurate care than Toledo. The only worry is I am not sure if he understood about my sons care in Toledo. It seems like he wasn't sure of whether to believe us or not that the doctor here did the the things he did.

Dr. Praveen Selvakumar is the best Doctor that has seen me at Cleveland Clinic and that says alot because I have seen many different doctors at Cleveland Clinic as I have been ill and going there since 2014.He is care is very patient advocated. He treats you like family and helps you to make the best decisions about your health. He truly is one of a kind. He has allowed me to trust a healthcare provider once again, as i have been misdiagnosed by other outside Doctors and became very ill because of them. He has shown me that He is cautious, caring, kind, comforting, and goes above and beyond to help me improve my health. My Mother also feels that He is the best Doctor we have EVER Seen! please share our comments eith him. Thank You.

We drive 2 hours and 20 minutes to get to our appointments because this doctor was actually able to help our child where the specialists where we are were not helping. I feel they were making the problem worse. Dr. Selvakumar helped from the very first visit.
