Industry Relationships

Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 7/16/2017, Dr. Stillman has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. I was very nervous to see a new provider when mine retired. Dr. Stillman made me feel right at home and listened to my concerns about switching medications. He talked to me and made sure my concerns were addressed before the end of the visit. When there was an issue with my coverage for new medications, Dr. Stillman and his staff promptly handled it. Needless to say I am relieved and very comfortable with Dr. Stillman being my new provider.

Dr Stillman is/always has been my favorite medical provider. He listens, asks about my current general health, always makes me comfortable when administering Botox shots & spends more than adequate time with my husband & I.

Dr. Stillman and his staff provided excellent medical care during my annual follow-up appointment. Dr. Stillman conducted a thorough assessment, reviewed recent history, and listened to my concerns. He placed me on a new preventative treatment plan based on findings and history. The patient care and compassion were outstanding.

My experience with Dr Still an was one of the most positive I've ever had. I've rarely had a specialist take so much time to thoroughly investigate my issues and provide a great treatment plan as well as immediately relief from my problem. I couldn't recommend him more highly or be more appreciative. I now believe I don't have to suffer in chronic pain and have already received enormous benefits for a long term issue that so many others have minimized and provided no help. in gact i had gone for an emergency appointment with another Clev Clinic physician only werks prior who told me my appointment wasn't necessary and there wasn't really anything much they could do for me.

Reviewed on Feb 28, 2018

Dr. Stillman has been treating me for migraines for several years. He is excellent in his abiity to portray the overall condition while highlighting the specific feature (s) that may need addressed. He provides options, alternatives, and is comprehensive in his knowledge of my history. Most importantly, Dr. Stillman has an amazing gift in acknowledging me as a person, while treating m as a physician and not just someone with an illness. I never leave an appointment with a feeling that nothing can be done to address my issue. I always leave with a sense of hope and accomplishment.

Visit to Dr Stillman was the enjoyable a Doctors appointment could possibly be.

gets distracted easily. suspect he sent Rx to the pharmacy for a similar medication as intended but not the exact one. The similar one wasn't covered by insurance-I was the one who sorted this all out, little irritating

Reviewed on Nov 14, 2017

Dr. Stillman should be seen as the "bar" when it comes to a great doctor--I've never had better, and I had just seen a neurosurgeon in Pittsburgh, PA. He had reviewed my records prior to my visit. While we met, he sat with my MRI and typed notes. He listened carefully and explained exactly how he planned to proceed. I am totally satisfied.
