Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

Love My Doctor!
Reviewed on Dec 27, 2019
Dr. Garcia is forthright and knowledgeable. I appreciated the way he answered my questions and responded to the my chart messages I sent him (regarding my follow-up appointment question). I also appreciate the way he contacted another specialist right away to set up an appointment for me.

I initially scheduled an appointment with Dr. Garcia because he had an available appointment for the same day. I was experiencing vaginal bleeding and was concerned that I was miscarrying my first pregnancy. Knowing that this was most likely the case was horrible enough, it did not help that I felt my first ever appointment with an ob/gyn was terrible. He continuously brushed off my clear devastation by constantly saying things like, "I am surprised you even got pregnant so quickly after stopping your birth control pill. Most pregnancies that occur like this miscarry," "Was this planned?" - at one point my fiance had to step out for a phone call and Dr. Garcia tried to make a joke by saying, "He abandoned you already?" this was insensitive and inappropriate considering the situation. I did not find it funny. He told me that my cervix is side ways. I had no idea what that meant, so I asked "Is that weird?" his response was, "IT'S weird. You're not weird." And did not explain what it meant. I ended up having to google if having a side ways cervix would cause me any future health issues. He did not seem to care whatsoever that I was hurting and miscarrying my first pregnancy because "it shouldn't have happened that quickly." I have never come across a health professional with such horrible bed side manner. I will never recommend him.

Dr. Garcia is a very kind and caring doctor. From the moment he steps into the room you feel like you will be getting the best care from him. His bedside manners are fabulous. he will take as long as he needs with you to make sure you completely understand your visit or any problems. Dr.Garcia is one of the best in my book and I would highly recommend him.
