About Haitham Ahmed, MD

He earned his medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School, Hanover, NH, and a master’s in public health from Harvard University, Boston, MA, both in 2010. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD, followed by fellowships in cardiology and preventive cardiology, also at Johns Hopkins. He joined the Cleveland Clinic staff in 2016.

Publications and Speaking: Dr. Ahmed has authored or co-authored more than two dozen scientific papers in peer-reviewed medical journals and also has published a number of online editorials as an invited author. He has presented at more than a dozen national and international medical meetings, frequently speaking on public health concerns such as diabetes and obesity as well as the latest developments in cardiac health and medicine.

About Dr. Ahmed: "I believe the heart is the most important organ in the body. That is why I am so passionate about helping patients and their families prevent heart disease. I specialize in primary prevention (before ever having a heart attack) as well as secondary prevention (after a heart attack). Together, the patient and I work on strategies for lifestyle modifications with an emphasis on exercise, diet and stress reduction. We also incorporate well-studied medicines to help control blood pressure, cholesterol levels, diabetes and coronary artery disease to reach our goal of a healthy life."

Dr. Ahmed was very thorough, caring, and patient with me especially since I was his last patient after what was, I'm sure, a long day for him.
