Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

Dr. Bergman is very nice and genuinely concerned.

Dr. Bergman always engages in dialogue regarding treatment recommendations and encourages me to make decisions based on information he shares. Mine has been an interesting journey of "peeling the onion" and he intuitively knows where to go next. He's the best doctor I've ever had (and I'm 49)!

The best care anywhere. That is why I drive 6 hours. Don't know what I would have done without Dr. Bergman and Functional Medicine.

This is the best physician I've ever had. He takes on my health challenges as a personal quest, is so personable and professional. He is very knowledgeable and yet open to my suggestions from my personal study of my condition. I feel respected and welcomed when I meet with him. I never feel rushed when meeting with him. I feel I can trust his recommendations, which is very important to me.

Dr. Bergman went over everything and gave us very detailed instructions, every one that we dealt with explained everything in detail to make sure we understood

Dr. Bergman is very thorough with his explanations and instructions. He will explain things to me multiple times and in multiple ways when necessary. He always checks in with me to be sure that I'm comfortable with the treatment plans he maps out for me. If I'm unclear about medications or follow-ups, he/his office promptly responds to my MyChart messages.

Dr. Bergman is relatable in the way he talks to patients - he avoids using medical terminology that the average person does not have knowledge about.

Doctor was excellent and spent a considerable amount of time explaining and discussing options and we formed a care plan with some alternates for possible inclusion. I was very happy with the appointment.

I could not have gotten better care , in the worst health crisis if my life , I have hope now .

Dr. Bergman is, hands down, the best doctor I've ever had and I'm thankful to have found him. He's helped me improve my health and resolve issues for things I never would have otherwise learned were a problem. He's also very good at communicating, and including me in my own care rather than just telling me what to do. He's an excellent physician.

I think the first half of appointment we felt like we weren't understanding each other. Then we had a breakthrough and he was rushed to move on to next patient. I understand the time constraints but he wasn't able to clearly articulate what his thought process was to me. I feel the biggest challenge is I switched doctors and the transition was the issue. The last two appointments he is trying to get up to speed and not enough time schedule. Almost need to book a total NEW patient intake to have the allotted time to discuss all necessary things.
