Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 2/8/2019, Dr. Flores has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Doctor Flores is never on time even if you have the first appointment of the morning. He does however spend as much time with you as you need.

I did not like this provider at all. I waited an overall of 2 hours between the waiting room and waiting in the exam room until provider was able to come see me and by then office hours were over. my appt. was at 3:45pm and I did not see the Doctor until 5:30pm. Then when he actually came in to see me, it seemed as if we just wanted to rush to get me out of there. He was asking me questions that had nothing to do with what I was here for and he was not able to answer my questions. I am never going back to him and I would not recommend him to anyone.

doctor was very thorough.

Reviewed on Jul 11, 2018

I was waiting for 45 minutes before I was taken to the exam room. I asked the receptionist if the Dr. was even there, she went back and checked and stated that I would be called back soon, but there was still another patient before me in another exam room. My time is just as valuable as the doctors time.

Reviewed on Jul 10, 2018

Dr. Flores barely said hello to me when he came in. He immediately went to the computer. He made no eye contact. I started to explain my ear issue and he brushed me off by telling me to sit in the chair while he looked in my ear. During my exam, I asked a couple of questions about the nature of my infection and he very abruptly told me that he did not know and needed to finish his exam. When I asked him about what he was doing, he told me that he was cleaning my ear but he gave me absolutely no warning when he pushed an alcohol soaked swab into my already sore and raw ear canal. I almost came out of the chair. He did not apologize. I asked for him to please give me some level of explanation and/or warning as he conducted his exam which he did not do.

Reviewed on Jul 10, 2018

I had to wait over 30 minutes in exam room to be seen by a doctor.

Reviewed on Jul 10, 2018

Dr. Flores was not sensitive to my needs at all. He was cold, abrupt and non-communicative.

Reviewed on Jul 9, 2018

Ten minutes with the doctor. Little time for hearing ck.This visit was more than 4 hrs. Very aggravating.
