Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.
As of 1/5/2017, Dr. Patel has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. My provider is phenomenal and takes time out of her busy schedule to connect, answer questions, offer empathy and truly be invested. Dr. Patel is priceless!

Dr. Patel was so friendly and courteous. I left feeling cared for! She stopped and treated me like a person instead of a number. She wasn't rushed or distracted...I felt like she gave me her undivided attention. I would highly recommend her.

Dr. Patel is the most comprehensive care giver that I or my family have experienced. She not only holds the technical and medical knowledge, but also remains sensitive to the patient and family members' fears and needs. Dr. Patel clearly explains testing and procedures from diagnosis to follow-up. She organizes appointments, schedules tests and expedites when needed then ensures prompt communication of results. She and her team respond timely and effectively to any questions and concerns.

Dr Patel also gave me info regarding my daughters and who they should see and so forth in regard to their mammograms due to my breast cancer. Dr Patel is ALWAYS helpful, listens, and is a true gem. Love her

Dr. Patel listened to my concerns and was able to relieve my worry as we discussed my lab results. She was very thorough in showing me how to conduct by own personal exam and what to be concerned about. She stressed to always call when I have the slightest concern or worry.

The time that Dr. Patel spent to explain and discuss is very much appreciated. I felt like a participant (not, like with some doctors, someone that needed to be checked off the list so they can get on to the next person).

I am so grateful I saw Dr. Patel. Another pyscican had out dated information and instructed me not to breast feed my son. Dr. Patel assured me my issues are common and not a reason to stop. She explained everything I needed to know and answered all my questions. I didn't feel rushed even though she squeezed me in. I just met her that day but already felt very comfortable with her. I will highly recommend her to anyone with breast issues.
