Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.
As of 4/3/2017, Dr. Kappus has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Jane Kappus and her staff are wonderful. My only reason for an less than perfect score is it takes a long time to get an appointment, but I didn't have an emergency, just a check up. I waited longer than 15 min. but I never mind since Dr. Kappus always gives me the time I need.

Dr Kappus is an amazing Doctor the kind of doctor that is hard to find now. She always goes above and beyond and I have never felt rushed. In fact I have told friends that I leave feeling like she would have liked to have had more discussion. I feel like she genuinely cares about what is going on with me and my family. You are very fortunate to have her on your staff and I selfishly worry that she will retire.

Dr. Kappus was amazing. I was a new patient and caked with a concern and I got an appointment right away. She took the time to talk with me about my concerns and explained in detail what testing she was going to do. She was extremely thorough with the testing and follow up with results immediately. I was very impressed with the whole process.

Dr. Kappus provided me information about the indication for all the medication and she informed me about the adverse effects as well.
Reviewed on Aug 24, 2016
Dr. Kappus is an understanding, compassionate, and a rarity in today's medical field. She is and never has been in a hurry with me, but rather listens to me, to my needs, and concerns. I only wish more Doctors had the same assets as Dr. Kappus has. She should be recognized and hopefully is truly appreciated by the Cleveland Clinic. Her patients matter to her and she lets us know how much by her actions...

The care provider walked me every step of the way and ultimately led me to the best option with my specific issue. I also know of other options, and what to do if this medication does not work well.
