About Eiran Z. Gorodeski, MD, MPH

Eiran Z. Gorodeski, MD, MPH, FACC, is Director of the Center for Connected Care at Cleveland Clinic, Staff Cardiologist in the Section of Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation Medicine, in the Tomsich Family Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, and Assistant Professor of Medicine, at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. He is board-certified in cardiovascular medicine, and heart failure and transplantation.

Dr. Gorodeski has an interest in post-acute/post-hospitalization care, care transitions, and healthcare policy. In his role as Director of the Center for Connected Care (http://my.clevelandclinic.org/connected-care), Dr. Gorodeski leads Cleveland Clinic's post-acute care operations, including home care, hospice, and home- and facility-based physician group practices.

Number of Procedures Performed:  Dr. Gorodeski treats 500 to 1,000 patients with heart failure annually. He also performs several hundred heart catheterizations and heart biopsies each year.

Education and Training: Dr. Gorodeski received his undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree from Brandeis University, Boston, MA, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Cleveland, OH, and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society. He completed a Masters in Public Health with a concentration in quantitative methods at Harvard University, Cambridge, MA. Dr. Gorodeski completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, and his cardiovascular training at Cleveland Clinic. He also completed a fellowship in Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation at Cleveland Clinic.

About Dr. Gorodeski: “I enjoy my field because I get to know my patients very closely and develop relationships with them over time, sharing in both their recovery and their healthcare-related struggles. I’m involved with research that I feel can immediately translate into a better understanding of patients’ needs and figuring out how to take better care of them.
