About Eiran Z. Gorodeski, MD, MPH

Eiran Z. Gorodeski, MD, MPH, FACC, is a cardiologist in the Section of Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation Medicine, in the Tomsich Family Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, and Associate Professor of Medicine, at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. He is board-certified in cardiovascular medicine, and heart failure and transplantation.

In addition to office visits, Dr. Gorodeski also offers scheduled pre-visits and follow up virtual visits to select patients, through the Cleveland Clinic Express Care ® Online app. This platform allows patients to see their physician live, using their smartphone, tablet or computer.

Specialty/Clinical interests: Cardiomyopathy, heart failure, heart transplantation, ventricular assist device (VAD).

Number of Procedures Performed:  Dr. Gorodeski treats 500 to 1,000 patients with heart failure annually. He also performs several hundred heart catheterizations and heart biopsies each year.

Education and Training: Dr. Gorodeski received his undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree from Brandeis University, Boston, MA, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Cleveland, OH, and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society. He completed a Masters in Public Health with a concentration in quantitative methods at Harvard University, Cambridge, MA. Dr. Gorodeski completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, and his cardiovascular training at Cleveland Clinic. He also completed a fellowship in Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation at Cleveland Clinic.

About Dr. Gorodeski: “I enjoy my field because I get to know my patients very closely and develop relationships with them over time, sharing in both their recovery and their healthcare-related struggles. I’m involved with research that I feel can immediately translate into a better understanding of patients’ needs and figuring out how to take better care of them. Both doctors were very caring and explained my health status, results, history, medications etc. Both of these doctors had a good sense of humor, but remained professional. I cannot stress how compassionate they were. I felt I was in VERY good hands. Excellent doctors. I hope I see them again.
