About Deepa Patil, MD

Deepa Patil, M.B.B.S., M.D. is certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology. She received her fellowship training in Gastrointestinal, Pancreatic, and Hepatobiliary Pathology at the Cleveland Clinic. She is part of the GI and Hepatobiliary Pathology Service, including extramural consultation practice. She holds an academic appointment as an Associate Professor of Pathology at the Cleveland Clinic's Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.

Dr. Patil's research interests include the histologic and molecular aspects of Barrett's esophagus and Barrett's-related neoplasia, inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal cancer, GI mesenchymal tumors, and vascular pathology of the gastrointestinal tract. She enjoys teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, and was awarded the John Beach Hazard Distinguished Teacher Award in 2014. She continues to engage in national and international seminars as a Faculty Speaker.
