Industry Relationships

Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 12/2/2019, Dr. Gorodeski Baskin has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. Click here to view a listing of instances where Cleveland Clinic has identified a Public Health Service (PHS)-Reportable Financial Conflict of Interest and has put measures in place to ensure that, to the extent possible, the design, conduct and reporting of the research is free from bias.

The Dr. listened to my concerns and answered questions.

Dr. G-B is what all doctors should be like. Great personality, knowledgeable and thorough, to name a few.

Reviewed on Aug 5, 2020

The Doctor addressed my health concerns and was helpful with prescribing medication and establishing followup care.

Reviewed on Aug 3, 2020

She is a very caring doctor and listens to me. I feel like I am just not a statistic!

Reviewed on Jun 30, 2020

When describing some underlying conditions that contributed to the reason for my visit, she said repeatedly, I don't do that you will have to consult another specialist. I felt the whole appt was a waste of time and I should have just continued to manage my post cancer thyroid issues with my primary care physician. There is no reason to go to a "specialist" if they perform the same tests and tell you "they don't do this or that". I get better care from my primary.

I am a new patient and I was extremely pleased with how well the staff treated me, I was informed of everything that was being done and the doctor put me at ease and made me feel very comfortable and important. I will recommend the practice to anyone who is looking for an endocrinologist.

video care is more convenient but I felt majorly rushed. the dr. was a few minutes late to jump on the video call, but earlier than they usually are in person

Very good experience! So good, I wish I could have Dr. Gorodeski Baskin MD as my primary doctor. She is very caring, encouraging and really listens to the patient.

Reviewed on Feb 11, 2020

While the Dr. was an improvement over the nurse, she was rather laid back about my concerns. When she told me that eventually I would most likely need surgery, there was little explanation and very little empathy.

Reviewed on Feb 10, 2020

doctor Gorodeski-Baskin is outstanding. she is my father's endocrinologist and when I needed her type of service I chose her I've anyone else.

Reviewed on Feb 10, 2020

The doctor wasn't really listening. to my concern about what I was doing to help myself. She more or less. Doubt it some of the things that I was saying. being more of a scientist and not a listening ear to care.

Reviewed on Feb 5, 2020

Dr. Gorodeski is thorough, very knowledgeable and able to explain issues in lay terms. She is excellent!

Reviewed on Jan 27, 2020

Dr would like me to return for a follow up in six months but the calendar is not open six months out. So I have to remember to call back on the calendar does open up so I can schedule my next appointment. That seems a bit ridiculous.

For some appointments it has been difficult to schedule with Dr. Gorodeski-Baskin except to wait for several months until she has an opening. This is not a complaint about anything other than the business of her schedule.

Reviewed on Nov 20, 2019

test results are released to my chart and are abnormal. still haven't heard from this doctor about what to do.

Reviewed on Nov 19, 2019

This New doctor questioned me how i got next day appointment she told I should not have been given cancellation still for regulars. Worse manner ever. HAS TO DISMISS OR CONFRONT EVERYTHING.

Reviewed on Oct 8, 2019

this visit was for my annual checkup. this dr didnt hardly give me any physical. she said I had high blood pressure when I never had high blood pressure before and wanted me to take meds. never checked my thyroid or showed any concern for my diabetes. just wanted to give me meds for high blood pressure. I did go back and had it checked again and it was high. I wouldn't go back to her if I had to. she did schedule my normal blood tests. I would give her points for that. I then went in search of a new Dr.

Reviewed on Oct 8, 2019

I love Cleveland clinic but would never recommend this Dr.
