Industry Relationships

Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 9/2/2020, Dr. Komrovsky has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. top doctor

I was not impressed with Dr. Komrovsky's 'bedside manner'. He never looked at me and I barely got a hello. I do not doubt that he is a good Ophthalmologist. I plan on choosing a different eye doctor next time.

had a very good experience with my doctor appointment.

This appointment was "as smooth as glass." Wish the diagnosis was a little better, but the doctor and staff were wonderful.

Sure, I would have liked to hear of a safe, realistic "cure" for my vision problem, but I appreciate the doctor's honesty of diagnosis.

This was a second opinion on pain/pressure behind my left eye following cataract surgery in Aug 2019 by a different provider. I was treated with respect and both the doctor and his assistant listened to my concerns. The doctor offered an explanation for my discomfort (dryness rather than "pressure"), which my own doctor did not offer, which relieved the anxiety that I had been feeling. and gave me a list of eye drops to try. He also told me that the cataract surgery was done well, and that the difference in the appearance of my left eyelid was a common result of cataract surgery. I was very grateful for the explanation of these conditions.

worst dr. I've ever experienced at CC!! So rude, doesn't care about anything. Didn't even say hello. Worst of all he didn't wash his hands or use sanitizer prior to touching my face/eyes with his bare hands!! He's close to retirement so he's doesn't care and you guys don't either because this guy has a ton of bad reviews on your website

Great experience! Dr. Chao performed my surgery, but was not available to see me that day (He's awesome by the way). However, having the discomfort that I was having (Loose stitch in my eye), Dr. Komrovsky had an available appointment that same morning. He took care of my discomfort inn the matter of minutes! Thanks to all of you.

I would not recommend this Ophthalmologist to anyone as I feel he skirted over my questions and really did not listen to me. I highly recommend CCF practitioners to my friends. It is impossible to get set up with a primary physician at the CCF clinic on Rockside.
