CEO Update | Protecting households during pandemic

Fellow Caregivers,

For several months, Cleveland Clinic has been a guiding partner in the safe reopening of businesses. We are now collaborating with more than 100 organizations, from airlines to hospitality, to share safe practices. While each of us wants public areas to be safe — like our own hospitals and facilities — people also seek the same reassurance at home with their loved ones.

We published a new guide with The Clorox Company on how households can protect themselves and limit community spread of COVID-19. The guide can be used by anyone. It has cleaning recommendations, practical tips and guidance on well-being and resilience. Access the free guide from

Our clinicians are creating best practices in the treatment of COVID-19. As a member of the larger healthcare community, we share what we know to educate other caregivers and fulfill our mission.

We announced a collaboration with the American Lung Association to provide free training resources in an online education platform. It includes evidence-based modules and quick reference guides developed by our experts. The advanced training covers both COVID-19 and non-COVID care. Read our release.

One of our experts, Adarsh Bhimraj, MD, was recently profiled by U.S. News & World Report for his scientific contributions to COVID-19 treatment. Dr. Bhimraj leads a team that publishes treatment guidelines through the Infectious Diseases Society of America. Read about his professional journey during the pandemic.

Patients of varying ages and health histories continue to be impacted. At 29 years old, Ron Chaudry developed a severe case of acute respiratory distress syndrome related to his diagnosis of COVID-19. He suffered other complications, including cardiac arrest, illustrating the sudden and critical effects of this disease.

Ron is now working hard to regain his strength. He shares his story to encourage others to take proper precautions during this pandemic. We are inspired by Ron and his family for their bravery.

Thank you for your dedication.
