Bath caregivers work through power outage to provide vaccines

More than 600 patients were scheduled to receive vaccines at Akron General’s Bath Health & Wellness Center on March 26. When heavy winds caused a power outage at the facility, caregivers didn’t let the disruption stop them from getting doses in arms.

The facility’s maintenance team worked to get power where it was needed most to ensure laptops, Wi-Fi and system connectivity remained while the building operated on emergency backup systems.

The first 70 individuals scheduled waited patiently while downtime procedures were implemented.

Everyone from registration to the nursing and LifeStyles fitness staff pitched in to keep things running smoothly, and patients were grateful that appointments were not canceled.

Thank you to the Bath caregivers for your teamwork and dedication.
