Horacio Pizzanelli is a clinical exercise physiologist at Cleveland Clinic Canada. In his role, Mr. Pizzanelli designs personalized exercise training programs that help patients achieve their health and fitness goals. Working closely with his patients, Mr. Pizzanelli creates training schedules using data from health assessments and exercise tests results, in collaboration with preventive health professionals and sports medicine physicians.
Born in Montevideo, Uruguay, Mr. Pizzanelli relocated to Toronto and earned a Fitness and Health Promotion diploma at Humber College before going on to complete his Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology and Health Sciences at York University. Prior to Cleveland Clinic Canada, Mr. Pizzanelli worked with the Hospital for Sick Children, Ontario Lacrosse and The Canadian Back Institute. He worked in the physical rehabilitation field for six years as well as personal training and special populations programs with SickKids.
Mr. Pizzanelli works with his patients to prevent injury and achieve optimal physical performance. He has extensive experience counselling athletes and patients who are recovering from illness and injury. Mr. Pizzanelli has specialized skills to address sport-related concussions and pain patterns related to athletic performance. He is also a certified Functional Ability Evaluation (FAE) examiner.
Mr. Pizzanelli is fluent in English and Spanish and has a special interest in sports and photography.
