Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital Expands Pediatric Cardiology Care In Canton

Iqbal Choudhry, MD, And Kenneth Zahka, MD, Will See Infants, Children, Adolescents And Adults With Congenital Heart Disease

Cleveland: Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital has opened the Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Diseases Services at 4848 Higbee Avenue NW in Canton, expanding the reach of the renowned children’s hospital’s cardiology services into Stark County.

Two experienced pediatric cardiologists, Iqbal Choudhry, MD, and Kenneth Zahka, MD, will see children and adults who have congenital heart conditions at the satellite location.

Drs. Choudhry and Zahka have 66 years of combined experience and they are staff members of the Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Diseases, offering patients access to pioneering treatment, research and surgical innovations.

“We are pleased to offer families a convenient location that provides full access to our range of capabilities in caring for complex heart conditions, including congenital heart defects in adults," said Gerard Boyle, MD, chair of pediatric cardiology at Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital.

The location will accommodate pediatric patients with congenital or acquired heart conditions. Pediatric patients will be seen for general pediatric cardiology, genetic cardiovascular diseases, cardiovascular sports medicine, syncope, dizziness, chest pain and palpitations. The office will offer electrocardiograms (ECG), echocardiograms and 24-hour ECG monitoring.

In addition, Drs. Choudhry and Zahka provide care for adults with congenital heart conditions and they will attend to patients who are hospitalized at Aultman Hospital or Mercy Medical Center. Pediatric cardiologists also offer fetal echocardiography at Mercy Medical Center.
