Ashraf Morgan, MS, PhD

Ashraf Morgan, PhD, is a staff physicist at the Imaging Institute, Cleveland Clinic. He is certified by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) in diagnostic medical physics.

Dr. Morgan provides clinical physics support for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Ultrasound, Computed Tomography, and Mammography, including performance evaluation surveys, radiation barrier surveys, structural shielding designs, patient and fetal radiation dose estimation, MRI protocol optimization, and image quality troubleshooting. In addition, Dr. Morgan serves as the Certified Radiation Expert for several Cleveland Clinic regional hospitals and is the primary radiological physicist for Cleveland Clinic in South Florida and Las Vegas regional facilities.

Dr. Morgan has a passion for teaching and has been adjunct professor at Cleveland State University where he taught physics of medical imaging from 2009 to 2019. For two years during that time, Dr. Morgan was ranked in the top 5% of the university professors per the annual students’ evaluation. He is currently the primary rotation mentor for MRI and US. He also teaches didactic and hands-on lab in MRI and US physics to radiology and radiation oncology residents.

Dr. Morgan is a member of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM), the American College of Radiology (ACR), and the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA).
