Dr. Ghobrial was able to identify my unicuspid valve ahead of open heart surgery. Previously, all of the other clinicians had hypothesized that I had a bicuspid aortic valve.

The vast majority of this feedback is overwhelmingly positive--and 5's on every item but one. My ONLY concern with my entire complex, multi-month set of experiences has been communication, especially through MyChart. It is not as timely as some providers and occasionally my specific question was not addressed. The worst miscommunication was a CT scan that was scheduled on day 2, only communicated via MyChart, then cancelled in MyChart. I improperly assumed the echo and x-ray were sufficient. I think I mentioned as much to a nurse, but can't recall for sure. On day 6, I called to ensure I was good to fly home and schedule a followup appointment. That evening, in Denver (only partway home), I got a voicemail asking when I was going to get the CT. So, I got a hotel, flew back to Cleveland the next day, got a hotel in Cleveland, CT scan on day 8, then flew home. It cost nearly $1,000 for the ticket, hotels, car; lost sleep for two nights; and missed a professional commitment. We are all human and I am grateful for the entirety of my experience, including a scheduler working with me after hours from Denver to re-schedule the CT before I bought a new plane ticket. I also wish I'd been able to chat with Dr. Ghobrial earlier after my test results (day 34). If her busy-ness is the trade-off for working with her, I will take it every day of the week! She is wonderful--see later comment. Dr. Bakhtadze was also great in followup during discharge. He was warm, good at explaining at my desired fairly technical level, and took the time to show me video of dye showing my opened pulmonary veins. Thank you.

It was very hard to get in to see Dr. Ghobrial. In June, I had scheduled an appointment originally for Aug having to wait 3 months for that but then the office called and said she was not going to be in the office and I needed to wait until late Sept to see her. The office did not have a wait list mechanism as I would have been able to come given that situation.
