Biographical Sketch
L. Leonardo Rodriguez, MD, FACC, is a staff cardiologist in the Section of Cardiovascular Imaging, Department of the Robert and Suzanne Tomsich Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, at the Sydell and Arnold Miller Family Heart & Vascular Institute. Dr. Rodriguez specializes in valvular heart disease and echocardiography. He is currently Director of the Advanced Imaging Training Program. His research interests include valvular heart disease and diastolic function.
A Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, he has authored a number of articles on echocardiography in Circulation, the Journal of the American College of Cardiology and JASE.
Dr. Rodriguez graduated from the Universidad de Los Andes in Venezuela and did his residency at University Hospital in Merida, Venezuela. He completed fellowships at University Hospital in Venezuela, Massachusetts General Hospital at Harvard Medical School and Cleveland Clinic.
Dr. Rodriguez has expertise in echocardiography and valvular heart disease. Lately, he has been involved in innovating procedures for percutaneous treatment of mitral and aortic valve disease.
