Biographical Sketch
Adam W. Grasso, MD, PhD, is a staff cardiologist in the Section of Clinical Cardiology, Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, at Cleveland Clinic Heart and Vascular Institute. He began his appointment as a Fellow in the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine in 2004. Prior to this, he completed both his internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine, in Seattle. Additionally, Dr. Grasso earned a PhD in 1999 from the Department of Molecular Biology and Microbiology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, in Cleveland, Ohio. His specialty interests include clinical cardiology, cardiac consultation, atherosclerosis, lipid-lowering therapy and invasive cardiology.
He is currently certified in internal medicine and is board-eligible in cardiovascular medicine.
Dr. Grasso is a graduate of the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia, majoring in chemistry and graduating Cum Laude.
Dr. Grasso was named the Fredric J. Pashkow Stress Lab Fellow of the Year in the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at Cleveland Clinic in 2005. He received the Outstanding Resident Award from the American Federation for Medical Research-Western Section in 2003, and an American Institute of Chemists Award in 1992.
His research has been published in numerous peer-reviewed medical journals and he has also contributed chapters to medical textbooks. In what time remains, he enjoys his young family, including a nine-year-old son and six-year-old daughter.
