Biographical Sketch

Gaurang Shah, MD, FRCS, is a Staff Urologist in the Department of Regional Urology at Glickman Urological and Kidney Institute of Cleveland Clinic, at the main campus and Westlake center. His specialty interests include endourology and stone disease, minimally invasive surgery of the kidney and prostate and male sexual health and fertility.

Dr. Shah received his medical degree from N.H.L Municipal Medical College, Gujarat University, Ahmedabad, India, and completed his internship and residency at V.S. General Hospital in Ahmedabad. He performed residencies at NHS Trust Hospitals in Great Britain, attaining FRCS degrees from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. Additionally, he attained a Doctor of Urology degree from the Institute of Urology at the University of London. He then completed further residencies in urology and surgery at University Hospital-SUNY Health Science Center at Syracuse, N.Y., and a fellowship in sexual dysfunction and male reproductive medicine at New York University Medical Center in New York City.

Dr. Shaw has received many academic awards in the course of his studies, including the M.S. Kanvinde Gold Medal in Pathology and the American Urological Association Praecis Gerald Murphy Scholar Award, among a number of awards received from the AUA. Dr. Shaw belongs to the Urological Society of India, the Association of Surgeons of India, Indian Medical Association, the American Urological Association, Indian American Urological Association and the Association of American Physicians of Indian Origin.

 Dr. Shah believes in educating his patients about their diagnosis, treatment options and prognosis, so they can be actively involved in treatment decisions.
