Biographical Sketch

Steven J. Krause, PhD, is a clinical psychologist in the Departments of Psychiatry, Psychology and Center for Headache and Pain at Cleveland Clinic's main campus since 2006. He has a full-time clinical caseload that includes psychological assessment and treatment of individuals and families.

Dr. Krause specializes in pain management; he developed and directed IMATCH, a day-hospital program for the rehabilitation of chronic headache patients.

Dr. Krause has a BS in psychology and mathematics from Loyola University of Chicago and a MS and PhD in clinical psychology from Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri. He was a fellow in clinical psychology at the Langley Porter Psychiatric Institute at the University of California, San Francisco and a post-doctoral fellow at the University Pain Control Center in the Department of Anesthesia at University of Cincinnati Medical School.

Published in a number of peer-reviewed journals, Dr. Krause is a member of the American Pain Society and the American Psychological Association. He is president of the Midwest Pain Society.

Dr. Krause had a private practice in Oshkosh and Berlin, Wisconsin for many years and was a clinical assistant and clinical associate professor at the University of Wisconsin Medical School in Madison. Just before coming to Cleveland Clinic, he earned an MBA degree from the University of Wisconsin.
