Biographical Sketch
Augusto Tan Hsia, Jr., MD, is on the Associate Staff in the Center for Spine Health at Cleveland Clinic's main campus. He accepted that appointment in 2006 after being the chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine and a physician of internal medicine and rheumatology at North Shore Medical Clinic, Door County Memorial Hospital in Sturgeon Bay, Wis. since 2003.
His clinical interests include acute and chronic back pain, failed back surgery syndrome, spondyloarthropathies and lumbar canal stenosis.
He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from St. Louis University in Baguio City, Philippines, and completed a postgraduate internship at Medical Center Manila, Philippines. Dr. Hsia completed a residency in internal medicine at New York University Veterans Affairs Medical Center and a fellowship in clinical transplant at University Hospital of the State University of New York, Stony Brook, N.Y. He completed two fellowships at Cleveland Clinic; one in rheumatology & immunology, and the other in medical spine.
He is board-certified in rheumatology and internal medicine and is a member of the North American Spine Society and the American Medical Association.
