Biographical Sketch
Athar Mahmood Qureshi, MD, is an Associate Staff member in Pediatric Cardiology at Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. A Pediatric Cardiologist, Dr. Qureshi joined the Children’s Hospital in 2005. He also holds the position of Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.
Previously, he was a Senior Fellow in Interventional Cardiology at the Children’s Hospital Boston/Harvard Medical School, Boston, Mass. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and American Board of Pediatric Cardiology. His specialty interests include diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization in pediatric patients and congenital heart disease.
Dr. Qureshi received his medical degree from Aga Khan University Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. He completed a residency and internship at SUNY Health Sciences Center in Syracuse, N.Y., where he also received an award for excellence in teaching. He completed his fellowship in pediatric cardiology at Cleveland Clinic and received the Chairman’s Award for Research Excellence by a Fellow.
Dr. Qureshi is Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator in several ongoing research studies. His articles have been published in leading peer-reviewed journals, and he has authored chapters for books in his areas of expertise.
In his leisure time, Dr. Qureshi enjoys his time with his family, traveling, hiking and playing cricket.
