Biographical Sketch
Priscilla I. Figueroa, MD, is Head of the Section of Transfusion Medicine in the Department of Clinical Pathology at Cleveland Clinic. Her specialty interests include transfusion medicine, blood banking, stem cell therapies and quality management. She is board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and in transfusion medicine and blood banking.
After receiving a BA from Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass., Dr. Figueroa earned her medical degree from the Cornell University Medical College in New York City, and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. After interning at New York Presbyterian Hospital at the Columbia-Presbyterian campus in New York, she completed her residency at the New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Figueroa completed specialty training in transfusion medicine and blood banking with a fellowship she was awarded by Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. She was appointed to Staff of the Department of Clinical Pathology at Cleveland Clinic in 2005.
