Biographical Sketch
Jon Vogel, MD, is a Staff Member in the Departments for Colorectal Surgery at both the Cleveland Clinic main campus and the Cleveland Clinic Independence Family Health Center. His specialty interests include, laparoscopic colon surgery, colon and rectal surgery, diverticulitis, and inflammatory bowel disease.
Dr. Vogel earned his medical degree from Hahnemann University Medical College in Philadelphia, Penn. He completed an internship and a general surgery residency at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Md. He also completed a colon and rectal surgery residency at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.
He is certified by the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery, as well as the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. Dr. Vogel is also a member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and the Collaborative Group of the Americas on Inherited Colorectal Cancer.
He has published a number of peer-reviewed articles on topics associated with colorectal surgery, such as post-operative complications due to ulcerative colitis, ileal-anal j-pouch cancer, and Crohn’s disease, among many others.
