Biographical Sketch
Neal Hadro, MD, is a Cleveland Clinic Vascular Surgeon practicing at Marymount Hospital, an affiliated Cleveland Clinic hospital. He is board-certified in vascular and general surgery. Dr. Hadro’s specialty interests are endovascular aneurysm repair, carotid disease, endovascular revascularization and venous disease.
A native of Massachusetts, Dr. Hadro did his undergraduate work at the College of Holy Cross, Worcester, Mass., and received his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. He took his internship and residency in surgery at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., where he received the Juan d’ Avis Award for outstanding surgical fellow. He continued at Walter Reed with a fellowship in Peripheral Vascular Surgery, followed by a mini-fellowship in endovascular surgery from the New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York.
Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic in 2005, Dr. Hadro was in private practice in Portland, Maine, at the Maine Medical Center and Mercy Hospital. He has also served as a general medical officer in Fort Devens, Mass., and as a staff general surgeon at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, where he became Chief of Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery. He has received several military commendation awards and a U.S. Army Health Professions Scholarship. Dr. Hadro has been an Instructor in Surgery at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md., since 1996.
He has authored or co-authored journal articles on his specialty interests in such publications as the American Journal of Surgery, the Journal of Vascular Surgery and the European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery.
Dr. Hadro is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Society of Military Vascular Surgeons.
