Biographical Sketch
Eileen Hsich, MD, is Director of the Women’s Heart Failure Clinic. She specializes in heart failure in women, as well as heart transplantation, and nuclear cardiology. She is board-certified in cardiovascular medicine, nuclear cardiology and internal medicine. She is a member of the American College of Cardiology.
Dr. Hsich graduated from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Md. She completed her residency in internal medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo., and she is also the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute in Bethesda, Md.
She completed her clinical training at the National Institute of Health (NIH) in a unique program that permitted her to also complete two years of basic science research, investigating the role of NADPH oxidase to the development of atherosclerosis and hypertension. From there, she accepted a fellowship in clinical and molecular cardiology from the Tufts- New England Medical Center (NEMC) in Boston, where she received the National Research Service Award for Individual Postdoctoral Fellows.
She received her clinical training in heart failure and heart transplantation through a fellowship from Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was appointed to Cleveland Clinic in 2004.
Dr. Hsich has presented research on atherosclerosis and heart failure at local medical conferences and national symposia. She has served as a reviewer for the medical journal Circulation and the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. She has also served as Co-Chair at the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Hsich has had articles published in several peer-reviewed journals.
