Biographical Sketch
Samuel Tobias, MD, is a Clinical Associate in the Department of Neurosurgery at Cleveland Clinic, and Chief of Neurosurgery at Cleveland Clinic's Huron Hospital in East Cleveland. He was appointed to Cleveland Clinic in 2003.
Dr. Tobias received his medical degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico and interned in obstetrics and gynecology at Instituto Mexicano Del Seguro Social. He completed residency training in general surgery at the American British Cowdray Hospital in Mexico City and in neurosurgery at the National Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery, Mexico. He was an exchange fellow in neurosurgery at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia. In addition, he completed fellowships in clinical neurosurgery and skull base surgery at Hadassah University Hospital in Jerusalem and in skull base surgery at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.
In 2001, Dr. Tobias received the Razavi Clinical Scholar Award from Cleveland Clinic. He has written numerous peer-reviewed articles and is a member of the Israel Medical Association, the American Medical Association, the Ohio State Medical Association, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Joint Committee on Neurotrauma and Critical Care of the AANS. Dr. Tobias is fluent in English, Spanish and Hebrew.
