Biographical Sketch

Dr. Robert Mosteller is a clinical cardiac electrophysiologist for The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, practicing at Cleveland Clinic Westlake in Ohio. He is also a member of the Cleveland Clinic staff at Fairview, Lakewood and Parma Community General hospitals. Dr. Mosteller is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and clinical cardiac electrophysiology. He also holds a special competency certification in cardiac pacing.

A native of Chicago, Dr. Mosteller did his undergraduate work at Wheaton College in Illinois, graduating summa cum laude with a degree in chemistry. He received his medical degree for The Ohio State University. Following his internship and residency in internal medicine at Akron City Hospital where he was named Resident of the Year, he received fellowships in general cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology from Detroit Medical Center. He was appointed to The Cleveland Clinic Foundation in 2003.

Dr. Mosteller has had academic appointments as Assistant Professor of Medicine at Northeastern Ohio Universities and at Case Western Reserve University College of Medicine. Prior to his appointment to the Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Mosteller was a staff cardiologist/electrophysiologist in private practice, and he served as director of the Cardiac Telemetry Unit at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, where he was named Teacher of the Year in the Cardiology Fellowship Program and received a Teaching Excellence Award from the Department of Medicine.

Dr. Mosteller has written articles and abstracts related to his specialty interests in medical journals such as Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology and the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. He has been an active clinical investigator on therapies related to cardiac pacing, atrial fibrillation and heart rhythm as well as on pacemaker models.

Dr. Mosteller is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), and a member of the North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology/Heart Rhythm Society, the Northeastern Ohio Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology, the Christian Medical Association and the American Academy of Medical Ethics.

In his leisure time, Dr. Mosteller enjoys coaching basketball and baseball, playing sports such as golf, tennis and softball, playing the piano, and participating in church-related activities.
