Biographical Sketch

J. Eric Jelovsek, MD, is the Director of Surgical Education and Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Site Director in the Obstetrics, Gynecology, & Women's Health Institute and Glickman Urologic Institute. He specializes in treating women with a variety of pelvic floor disorders such as urinary and fecal incontinence, and pelvic organ prolapse.

Dr. Jelovsek received his BS in Biochemistry from North Carolina State University in 1995, and MD degree from East Tennessee State University in 1999. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Duke University in 2003 and an American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology/American Board of Urology-approved fellowship in Urogynecology and Female Pelvic Medicine in 2006 at Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Jelovsek has also received specialized training in minimally invasive surgery which involves vaginal surgery, laparoscopy, and robotic surgery. Additionally, he completed a fellowship in Medical Education in the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine.

Dr. Jelovsek is currently the Director of Surgical Education and the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Site Director at Cleveland Clinic. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University.

Dr. Jelovsek is a member of numerous scientific and surgical societies and serves as a member of the Pelvic Floor Disorders Research Network sponsored by the Eunice Kennedy Shriver Foundation in the NICCHD of the National Institute of Health in the United States. He lives with his wife, Jennifer, and three children, Morgan, Mason, and Madeline.
